Kinderton has greens that run above a 10 on the Stemp Meter. They roll well and true and are not overly large. There is a lot of uphill and downhill, over water, and doglegs. This course will challenge you and is a lot of fun. Located in Clarksville, VA, it is close to Kerr Lake and there is quite a lot of interesting things to do. There are a few wineries and craft beer breweries in and around the town. It is a great place to have a vacation and the golf course is always very good.
A typical Donald Ross Design. Greens have the standard Donals false fronts which requires some thought choosing the right approach club. Rolling hills gives you the sensation of playing in the mountains. Greens were in great shape and rolling true. Well worth the drive.
The new dwarf bermuda greens are open, they are beautiful. Still a few scars in the fairways from the new sprinkler system but all the work, clearing, and greens definately improved the course. Letter to members says tee-times required for a while.
