We played on November 8th and the greens were in miserable shape. Too many other good courses in the area like Cypress Wood Tradition or Wind Rose which are in excellent shape.. better pass on this one for now
Played here twice on two seperate visits to the area. Both times the course was in great shape. There were no issues with pace of play and the clubhouse is really nice, good food. Good golf course at any price, great deal at current rates.
Great Condition! Hot Cart Girls!! Great Food!!! Good layout!!!! Great Pace of Play!!!!! Must Play!!!!!!!
Very playable course. By that I mean that there is not a lot of trickery. You can see the shot you need to hit and are rewarded for hitting that shot. Immaculate clubhouse for a course that is open to public play, I think they have weddings out there. Great food and dining area, nice patio overlooking 9 & 18. Price is in line with others in the area, maybe a little better for the quality you get.
Great Value and Golf Course! Good pace of play! Well Managed!!!Good food and pretty cart girls!!!! Houston's Best Kept Secret
This golf course is way overpriced. The practice facilities are grossly inadequate, and the staff/management is extremely unprofessional. I have personally seen staff members and the owner cuss at patrons and treat them in various unacceptable manners. This course needs new management as it is being driven into the ground right now
Fun 18 holes of golf. Oakhurst has a straight forward layout, no tricks. Good shots are rewarded but you can still recover from trouble. They have a really nice clubhouse and friendly staff. Overall good deal.
I play most all of the courses in and around Kingwood. I like to take my buddies to Oakhurst. The greens are large and are in great shape. The course is open so you can swing away and most likely find your ball if your shot is somewhat errant. The food at the clubhouse is pretty darn good.
I play Oakhurst often and I think its a nice chane of pace from some of the other clubs in the area. And the course is always in great shape. Pace oif play is super, no a real high traffic golf course. All in all Im a fan.
Course is overpriced for the area. For the same price you can play cypresswood and it is a much nicer course. The course itself is in pretty good shape. The greens are huge and there really isn't much in the way of danger on any hole. It is usually not busy so that is a plus. Biggest problem we have had is with the staff. On several occasions the pro shop staff has been rude and less than helpful. I will agree about the beverage cart girls though. The last straw was when they told my pastor on the tenth hole that he could not use his pull cart because it was cart path only. Are you serious?
This course is very well-maintained and in great condition, but in my opinion overpriced. As evidence of this, the course is often semi-deserted (thats a plus actually) unless they have scheduled tournaments, which is quite often actually. The fairways and greens are excellent. The rough isn't high, but its lush and thick and has a way of swallowing your ball, bad news for worm-burners. Traps sometimes have drainage issues after heavy rains. I've played this course dozens of times and I find it isn't very challenging. Sort of boring actually. Its very flat and somewhat straight. Bunkers are shallow and infrequent. The main reason I play here is likely because I'm a below-avg golfer and appreciate the confidence boost of scoring low. And, agreeing with a previous post, there seems to be an endless supply of hotties that work in the snack bar, which I am a fan of. But I rarely see snack cart service on this course, except during peak times. So I'd like to see more of those snack bar girls :o)
