Great course. Good greens unlike other courses. Excellent staff. Friendly and nice.
I just went to Reese for the first time on Saturday 8/14/10 with a couple of friends. We had a tee time at 1:00pm and showed up early as usual. We checked in and payed for our round 3 hours early so we could grab lunch and hit the range and putting green. We were informed that they didnt have any carts available, so the driving range was out since it is not within walking distance. (it sits on the opposite side of the course for some reason)We cam and checked in at 12:30 and were told it would be about 1:10 before we could tee off since they were out of carts. No big deal, 10 minutes is not that bad. Then after waiting till 1:30 we went back in to check on the status and the old balding guy behind the counter was rude, unhelpful, and just didnt seem to care or want to help. He said about the carts quote "We only have 52, that is usually enough for the weekdays. We need around 75 on the weekends but why would we want to purchase more that we would only use on the weekends?" What a moron! Why would you want more carts on your busiest days....yeah I wonder. I then asked him why they take so many reservations for carts if they dont have them. Its like a rental car company renting 10 cars to 40 people. Then the manager came in and was just as rude unhelpful. His disdain for the customers was apparent. Talking to the other 20 people standing around waiting for carts, everyone was annoyed and vowed never to come back. Some guys were walking to the 18th green and snagging carts when other players finished; then cutting in line as there was no marshal to organize any of it. We tried to get a refund but were told that it wasnt possible. So we had to wait till 2:30 to tee off on our 1:00 tee time. And the cart we finally got was almost out of juice and missing the steering wheel cover that holds the score card. And the gps kept showing the wrong hole for some reason. Which a couple of times resulted in one of using the wrong club (once hitting the club house on a par 3 that said 190 which was actually 145; however that part was awesome lol) Other bad things : $38 is way to much to pay on the weekend when you cant even get a cart. Not to mention the greens and fairways were just in moderate shape. And all of the water containers were completely empty. The bathrooms were dirty and disgusting. As well as we were yelled at by other players on 2 different occasions for doing something (totally within the rules and regulations of any course) because they didnt like it. The every day players there are a bunch of pre madonnas that dont realize their course sucks. Horrible experience, and I will never go back. And I will go out of my way to let everyone else know how bad that place is. Avoid Reese at all costs! You would have a better experience going out to what used to be Elm Grove and just randomly hitting balls around.
