I used to play this course very frequently in the mid and late 90's. I left the area for 10 years and then came back to play it. Far from the way I remembered. Cart paths not trimmed, greens in poor shape, bunkers like hitting off of asphalt and the rough was quite high. The odor the last poster mentioned was probably from the ball washers. That was the foulest smelling, nasty ball washer I've ever encountered. We got to the point to putting our dirty balls in our bags and breaking out new balls when the old ones got dirty. A friend who I played with is a resident of La Porte and it had been years since he had played there and said he was embarrassed as a La Porte resident.
