Save your money. This course wouldn’t be worth $30. Terrible greens, terrible fairways, grass growing in the bunkers, and the pro and desk clerk didn’t seem to care that we were unsatisfied after paying $100.00 to play a crappy course. If your going to charge $100 to play, there are certain standards that you should live up to. Glen Dornoch certainly didn’t do that AT ALL! Go somewhere else!
Glen Dornoch is a well maintained course on the intracoastal waterway in Little River, SC. It has 5 sets of tees ranging from 5,000 yards to 6,900 yards. The three finishing holes are fantastic – the 16th – a long par 4 with lots of obstacles, the 17th – a par 3 over and around water with pot bunkers in play if you do make it past the water. The 18th is a risk, reward par 4 over more water with the intracoastal bounding the left side. Very nice course and friendly staff that seemed genuinely happy that you were there. They have a clubhouse and restaurant that overlook the 9th and 18th greens as well as the intracoastal waterway. One strange feature of this course is that the 9th and 18th holes share the same green. It is quite a large green so it works, but I thought that was a bit unique. In summary, a nice, challenging course. Recommended if you are in the area.
