Overall this is a great course. There are a lot of members because of the housing community that surrounds it. In 2012, course management is trying to implement all kinds of changes that are ticking people off. The dress code is ridiculous for Pahrump which is a small, redneck town sitting an hour away from any civilization. They added cart fees and took away range balls to existing memberships which basically slapped the members in the face. They do not stay open late enough for people to golf after work only because they can not manage the employees time. If they could get this course managed well and appropriate to the situation, there would be no downside at all. However, as it stands, I would hesitate to buy in this housing development or buy a long-term membership. Managing this course and making money should be easy because it is an extraordinary course to play. But, they fight against each other and do not work with people to understand how to maximize revenue and cater to the clientele.
About an hour drive from Vegas but well worth it - less than half the price of Vegas courses. Have played this course every year since it was only 9 holes and the clubhouse was a trailer, and the course is always in fantastic shape. My favorite course when I'm in Vegas.
