I Was stationed at Kirtland and had free golf there at the course. It wasn't worth free!! I HATED it. If you stay in the fairway, you're OK, but the ruff is not only terrible, but will destroy your clubs. The rough is more like a continuous sand trap or rocks everywhere (no grass). That being said, the sand traps were more like soft concrete traps. The greens were always in bad shape, more sand than grass. I would only recommend playing this course if you have to.

Decent 18 hole course. Fairways are a little firm and greens are a bit dry/fast. Moderately well-stocked pro shop. Nice snack bar.

As a retired Sailor I always believed that the Air Force built the golf course 1st then asked for money for the runway. Not here this course is ok but not one of the best military courses I have played on. Needs improvement and from my understanding its on the way. New manager. Hopefully he can get this course squared away and back up to par with other military courses. Fun to play and not to crowded. Very easy to walk. Go Navy.
