Scotland Run is way over rated. The course is beat up. Not in good shape. I expect a lot more for $95. Not worth it.
Played this course on a Saturday in August. Sprinklers were on for the first two hours we played (9:30-11:30). No consistency in fairways or greens - spongey, followed by rock hard... Workers were all over the place and after awhile I felt like I was a 12 year old kid driving the golf ball at the guy in the caged ball retriever at your local driving range, except now I try not to hit them. So, if you want to spend $90 on a Saturday and watch some incredible landscaping in action, go to Scotland run.
Not my favorite
Played Scotland Run the other day and it was in great condition. I love playing this course. It's got everything and more. Interesting and varied holes, a great layout, friendly staff, nice clubhouse. Looking forward to returning again.
Played this course yesterday for the first time in over a year and WOW ! A spectacular improvement ...greens were fast and true, fairways, tee boxes and rough are lush and well maintained for this time of year. Appeared that numerous bunkers have been rebuilt....Fall rate of $78. is well worth the price. Check out this place next time you're in Philly or South Jersey.......
This golf course has a great layout, with some very challenging holes. However, 90% of the sand traps (of which there are many) were in horrible condition, with no fresh sand to be found. It was like hitting off of gravel. Additionally, there was minimal staff available to assist - 1 drink cart seen during the entire 18 holes, no one working the phones at hole 8 for food orders, no rangers around to monitor speed of play, minimal workers outside to receive carts...Not what I would expect for a $90 greens fee.
Unfortunately the course was in absolutely horrid condition most likely due to the recent weather. Staff was friendly, club house was beautiful. i just wish the greens fee was more reflective of the course condition.
I played this course today. For $78 it was not in good shape. I must admit though, the layout was interesting.
