I am the manager at Fernwood. My staff is working very hard to make Fernwood a great place to play. In June our fairway mower was broken for almost 2 weeks. That was very frustrating but now our fairways are cut several times each week. We also do our best to keep our greens in good condition. We are getting great comments from the people who play the course. I hope that many people will try our course this summer. To tapercmk who played when our fairways were uncut, I would be happy to offer you a free round of golf if you will try our course again. Contact me at info@fernwoodclub.com I want everyone to have a great experience at our course. Please come and play our course or check us out at Fernwoodclub.com I hope to see many of you soon.
I'll start with the positives - $10 to play all day is hard to beat. I went on a Friday morning and had the course virtually to myself. Felt like a throwback to an earlier time with the sign that asked you to put $10 in an envelope and put it through the slot if nobody was there to collect - you gotta love that! On the downside I was disappointed in the course condition, the fairways and "greens" are overrun with weeds. I wanted to love this course - I really did but I think I'll stick to Twin Willows.
I really love this course. My entire family also loves it. We have a great time together. We can play 9 holes in about an hour. The course is in great shape. The greens fees are very reasonable. The course is open to the public. It is great for beginners or advanced players. I highly recommend this course. They have made improvements on the course recently. The other reviews may not be up to date because of this. They have a web site at www.fernwoodclub.com for more information. I hope you love the course as much as us.
