Notice that there were no reviews posted after 2010. Bass River is currently in great shape. It has hosted the MassGolf Women's Baker Cup and a qualifier for the MassGolf Men's Mid-Amateur recently. Greens Fee is $57 weekdays and $67 weekends. Does it get crowded in the summer on weekends? Of course it does. The patio overlooking the river is the best 19th hole on the Cape.
This course could be great, but unfortunately they allow so many people to play at once that you spend the entire day waiting to play each hole. The aeration holes on the greens were so poorly filled with sand that it made even the most planned out putt meaningless. When we complained to the player's assistant that play was too slow and to see what the hold up was, he came back and admitted that, "there are too many people and it is all jammed up". It was impossible to get anything to eat because the clubhouse is closed for renovations until the end of the summer (so we were told). What should have been a great day of golf was filled with frusteration. It is a shame the location is great and the views are nice. At least we had something to look at while we sat and waited and wished we could get our money back hole after hole.
