This is a 5 star rating but GolfLink changes it to 4 stars. I've played 90 rounds at SVCC for each of the past 3 years. Average round time is about 3.25 hours walking. It is a fantastic test of golf from tee to green. Gold tees play 6,700 yards, slope 135, greens run about 10 to 11 on the stimp meter. Fairways are well maintained with nice tight lies around the green. The golf staff is attentive and friendly. The club house and practice facilities are great too. Guests rave about the golf, the food and just about everything SVCC has to offer. The course is a hidden jewel in New England and will challenge every element of your game.
I had not played Spring Valley for several years and a member invited me to play this past September. I found the course to be a great challenge. We played the Gold tees, one up from the back at around 6,700 yards. The greens were the best greens I have putted on in quite a while. Don't turn down an invite to play there.
