Played this course on 7/30/14. Learned to play golf through the Elk Grove Park District back in the mid 70's and this was the site of our final lesson, and my first round of golf. Fast forward 40 years and now that I have retired and am playing more than on Fathers Day every year thought I would give it another shot. Glad I did cause it has changed from what I remember it being, or maybe the passage of time has influenced what I remember. It's a nice course for someone who is starting out, or like the crew I golf with, someone starting over again. The fairways are not super wide so you have to watch where your ball is going, just like every where else. Yes the high tension line cross the course but it's just another hazard like the water and the sand. We took carts because we got a super deal with a Groupon and couldn't afford not to. Of the 4 of us, 1 was a resident of Wood Dale and he and his wife play play this course regularly, the rest of us thought that it was someplace we would like to and will play again. And as to having to drive through the parking lot, to get from the Blue Course to the White Course, we have played Mission Hills Country Club in Northbrook where do do a whole lot more driving through the parking lot than you do here. As far as the greens go, they were a challenge, however, as bad a golfer as I am I managed to 2 putt 11 of the greens and 1 putt 1 of the greens. The only green that didn't come up to the par set by the rest of the greens was the 9th green on the White Course, our final hole, but it was still better than some of the other courses I've played this year. Overall I thought the greens were in very good condition. The ranger was on the course but since we were chasing the group in front of us he didn't say anything because he didn't have to.
All in all in my opinion this was a very good course to spend the day on, and our group of retired duffers will be back.

Only play this course if it is an absolute last resort.
1. There were 4 guys ahead of us in the pro shop trying to walk on. Took 15 minutes for them pay and get their carts.
2. We had 2 choices when we teed off. Behind a group of kids in highschool screwing around, or a man, his wife and 2 5 year olds.
3. First fairway was in HORRIBLE shape.
4. 2nd tee, you hit through Power lines.
5. No beverage cart when we played.
6. A ranger on the course, but didn't do ANYTHING.
7. Worst greens I have ever played on.
8. When playing 18 holes, you have to go through the parking lot to get to the next teebox.
9. After we finished the first 9, we got to the 10th tee, only to see the starter sending out a walking foursome..
The Good
1. Really cheap if you go through golfnow. 25$ for cart and 18 holes.
2. Short, but challenging.
3. After passing 2 groups, our round went by pretty fast.
Just like with every course, people have good experiences, people have bad. We had a bad. Don't go to Salt Creek and expect a top of the line executive course.
