The course is in great shape. Everyone there is really friendly. Had a lot of fun playing there today, although the back 9 was a little slow due to some slow groups in front of us.
Best course I played this year. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in great shape. Played this course 3 times this year. Some negatives: no range, no gps, hardly any yardage markers. Not a course for beginners or slow players--their rangers keep it moving throughout the round. You will see a ranger every few holes and will let you know if you're falling behind.
Klein Creek is a nice course. It is well maintained and has a nice layout. The greens were in good shape along with the rest of the course. The one downside is that the course winds through a sub division. The houses are nice but it takes away from the the natural beauty a golf course should have. Overall this course is a good value. I would put it in my Top 25 for Chicago-land golf if you can get a $50 round on a weekend.
Got a Golfnow deal $50 for 18+cart on a Saturday. We teed off at 2:45 and barely got in 18 after a 5-hour round...a wait on every hole. Greens were badly beaten up, and were perhaps the fastest greens I have ever played. The ball did not receive. Fairways were pristine (perhaps because you could never play from them; they were so rock hard, the ball always bounced into the rough). Water came into play on most holes, and yes, there are houses which come into play, especially on the back 9. On the good side, all staff was friendly, and addressed the fact that play was slow and were trying to get a few slow groups to pick up the pace. Didn't help much, but at least they tried. As you may be able to tell, I was not a huge fan. It is a nice course but I have played much better for cheaper.
