The first gentleman that commented on this course in October of 2010 played on the course right after it had been aerated and top dressed. of course the greens would be a little sandy. As to the 3" roughs. well they are the rough and average 2 to 3 inches. My response to this is hit it in the fairway. Its called the short rough for a reason. For residents the greens fees are included in the member dues but for non-residents it is an $8.00 green fee. Pure highway robbery! This is a difficult course for some players and I would recommend this person get some lessons to eliminate his slice and he would probably enjoy the game a great deal more. The course has 9 holes with 2 par 5's, 4 par 4's and 3 par 3's for a total of par 35. the average golfer usually plays this course in the mid to high 40's to low 50's. Mostly a links style course, there are some trees on all the holes. Irrigation is usually done at night unless it is extremely dry when they hand water during the day. or say maybe right after top dressing so the sand can be washed into the turf. I find the course challenging and well maintained. The greens keeping staff consists of 3 people and they do a great job with the limited resources a $8.00 greens fee budget allows. If you know someone in the community then ask them to bring you out to the course to see for yourself. Many local golf professionals have given great reviews and the residents have given an average 4 out of 5 rating on the course. As a resident I enjoy playing the course at least once a week during the season. The course was built in 2007 and gets better every year. To the first commenter in this string I would like to invite you to come back and play the course again but this time try it before they aerate the greens. say like in June thru September. Keep an open mind and remember that its not cog hill or saw grass. But then again they don't pretend it is or charge like it is.

This is a nice golf course that is somewhat challenging in which I play 10-20 times per year. Fairly open fairways, sand, water and trees on most holes. No problems with this course nor the staff working there. regarding the negative feedback below, there may have been problems several years ago but not any longer as they are managing it well now! The course is normally in great shape and everyone is very friendly welcoming golfers!!

The course is excellent for a nine hole course. The greens are in good shape. The course is well maintained and stays green throughout the year. The sprinkler system never goes when you are playing. The last reviewer was either at a different course or something went wrong that day. Either way, it's a good course and fun to play.

This is by far the worst maintained course that I have ever played! The greens are all sand and just off the fairway is over 3 inches long. The greenskeepers have complete disregard to your game and will not stop the sprinklers on your green even if you ask! If you are not a resident of candlewick lake and walking you should not play here, or pay them a dime! It is free for resident walkers, but still will never return. I would give this course negitive stars if it were possible.
