I laughed at the comments about Cog being better priced and better shape(1 and 3 are more expensive and are weak tracks). This course is a hidden gem and a must play.

Call it as it is...a "hidden gem". Never have I been disappointed with this course. For a public course, it's pristine! This track is maintained very well and the staff has always been friendly. Not sure where these negative comments are coming from? I've been golfing for 27 years in and around the Chicagoland area and for the price, condition and layout, this is my go to course. Everyone that I've brought here...all were very impressed. Make sure to bring your "A"game! This course will challenge you in a good way. One more thing, the driving range... do yourself a favor and check it out. Not to many out there like this one.

I played here back in the mid 1980's and left because ot was a dump and overpriced - Well, what a joke, I went back with some friends to try it again and if you want to stand around more then play try this dump. If you go early or late bring a lot of bug spray, WAY WAY over priced for good old bad grass fairways, very small and hard greens. First tee is a joke as soon as the group in front hits their second shot they force you to go, unlike most good courses who actually space you out as your tee time indicates. Since I live in the area I stopped one night to try the practice green and chipping area, well the ranger nazi's told me unless I have a green fee ticket or bought a bucket of balls for the driving range I COULD not use the facilities. Will never go back to this dump ever again. Nothing changed about this dump in over 25 years except the outrageous price- I will stay with Cog Hill which has a good price, great condition, great clubhouse. All the other area courses are way better, Ruffled Feathers, Broken Arrow, Woodbine, Gleneagles,

Really well maintained course. Despite the grumpiest pro-shop in the area, the course is a lot of fun with really nice elevation changes. Driveable par 4s and some nice long par 5s make this a fun challenging course.

If you are looking for a bug infested slow...I mean slow 6 hour round on a poorly maintained and over priced course, Have I got the place for you. The only reason they get any play at all is the obvious density of players in the area who don't seem to care about value. Why anyone would want to part with their hard earned cash on a round where the highlight of the day is walking off the 18th green...if you can tolerate making it that long. The holes are too close together on a number of holes. This puts you in the crossfire of those who should never pick up a club. The Marquette Park like feel on the greens seperating tees by a huge chainlink fence puts you in a wonderful spirit. Don't forget the PPE. Personal Protective Equipment, Hardhat, Safety Glasses and Safety vest. Your round will be as relaxing as sitting next to a jack hammer for 6 hours....ENJOY!!!!

Had a Saturday 12:29 tee time as a single. Didn't start until 12:45, starters couldn't figure out how to set up the groups on the 1st and 10th tees. Yes, they were sending people out on 10 at 12:30 in the afternoon. Our group waited on EVERY tee box for the entire round. One ranger had the nerve to tell me to keep up with the group ahead of us. I was able to talk to the next group on the box all day. They were also waiting. At the turn there was a threesome waiting to be wedged in between groups. Unheard of. They are truly clueless out there. The round took over 5 hours. Avoid weekend play. A nice layout, but not worth the headache.
