Chateau Elan Golf Club

Chateua Elan bills this as a premier course. In order to meet those standards the maintenance of the course really needs to improve. They should have a starter and they should also have marshalls to keep the pace. We've played this course multiple times and it's always slow. The last day we played we arrived on the first tee and 4 foursomes were waiting (including us). And it didn't get any faster. We waited on almost every hole. On the 13th hole (par 3), the group ahead didn't ask if we wanted to play through, even though we arrived at the tee box before they finished teeing off, so we skipped that hole and moved on to 14. They were so far behind we didn't catch up to the group in front of them until 18. A marshall could have helped them keep the pace. It made it a less enjoyable experience.

The greens aren't great in any case (bentgrass, which isn't ideal for the heat and humidity in Atlanta). When we played they didn't inform us that they had aerated and sanded the greens which made them awful to putt. I know this needs to be done, but it would be nice to know ahead of time.
