The 18-hole "Lakota" course at the Lakota Links Golf Course facility in New Castle, Colorado features 7111 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 70 and it has a slope rating of 113. The estimated green fees for 18 holes is $119. Lakota Links Golf Course Golf Club has an onsite driving range with 6 practice tees. Designed by James J. Engh, the Lakota golf course opened in 2004.
My favorite course in Colorado. Little different in todays world, bar/restaurant are closed right now, which is disappointing given the amazing view from the bar looking out over the range. No cart girl either for the course, so its bring your own water or buy a Gatorade at the check-in desk. Hoping it can open again this year.Downside to this round was sprinklers were on for 10/11/12 and another 10 or so holes were absolutely soaked, which gave no roll and tough to hit an approach shot into the green from the fairway.
Difficult course if you spray it all over. It is very much a target golf course with many blind shots. There are 2 par 3's that are not in view from your tee box, only the flag is visible. I would like to see where my tee shot lands from the tee box. The course could use more signage when approaching the next set of tees (Hole #, yardage, etc.)There were several GUR areas in the fairways but the course is in great shape for the end of Oct. Personally, I would go back to Redlands Mesa in GJ before I played here again. It just had a better vibe there. You can sure see the Engh design in this course.
