Played Doubletree for the first time today. I have several issues: 1. Yardage markings. I frequently play the local Military courses and they all have Red, White and Blue markers that are about four inches square and stand up about three feet. Having yardage markers on the cart paths are fine, but I play from the fairways. And on almost every hole we had to search for the sprinkler heads. It's a simple solution and if you're not going to have gps in the carts, then you need to do something like visible markers to help speed up play. 2. I think it's the sixth hole - has a pond that is just stagnant water and it really stinks. That thing needs to be eliminated. I think I even realized that birds were not landing in it - it's that bad. That whole area stunk. 3. I did not see a course marshall all day? It would have been nice to get a water refill. 4. The refreshment cart did not come by until we were well into the back nine. 5. The greens - the consistency was to expect for your ball to do what you don't expect it to do (does that make sense?) One uphill putt doesn't make it, the next goes roaring by. I'm not the best putter, but after getting used to several greens, they should all be somewhat predictable. Oh, and they all drain towards the freeway. 6. I liked the elevation changes and almost (if not every) lie was playable (that part was better than the military courses). 7. Yes, there's lots of sand traps! Overall it was ok and I can now say that I've played it but I'm not excited to go again. And for my money I'd expect for the carts to at least have GPS.
Decent course in the morning but afternoon plays too slow. A couple of holes along the freeway cause some concern about RH draw. Extra charge for the chipping greens and there isn't a warm up range, just nets.
