Quintero is one of the finest courses I have ever played. Everything about the course was excellent! The greens were the best I have ever seen. The fairways were lush with very few brown spots (a rarity during summer). The staff was very friendly and helpful. I did not spend much time in the clubhouse, but I can say it was very nice and appeared to have a nice selection of merchandise available. I can't really think of anything that I didn't like about the course. I booked on their website; I paid online before my round and it was only $30. The course is a par 72. There are five different tee boxes; from the tips Quintero plays at over 7200 yards and from the front tees it plays at about 5300. If you're not a straight hitter off the tee, bring extra balls. This is a must-play course if you live in Arizona or are just visiting the area.

The course has a very nice layout that’s pleasing to the eye but not a true championship golf course. All par three's but one was severely elevated making play on a windy day impossible. No clubhouse to speak of but staff was very friendly and courteous. Not a course you could play over and over again as the novelty would soon wear off. The starter was not helpful at the driving range and told all four groups to hit when they were ready which resulted with me getting hit in the face by an idiot teeing off on the first tee before we were finished hitting our approach shots from the fairway. Do not wonder off into the desert areas and watch where you step at all times there are rattle snakes that like to warm themselves in the sun in bunkers and cart paths.

An excellent desert golf course. I have played Quintero a smattering of times over the last few years and have enjoyed it more each time. The terrain, scenery, and layout are top notch- it is a beautiful place to play and the architecture is stimulating and challenging. The fact that there is always at least a bit of wind seems to heighten the difficulty. Many of the greens are elevated "Tillinghast-style", making precise approach shots important. There are at least 3 holes with water in play- something I usually find a bit cheesy on desert courses, given there is not a drop of "natural" water anywhere for 50 miles... Its presence on this course is somehow less disappointing on this course than on some other tracks, perhaps as they do a nice job hiding the fact that the water is pumped rather than natural and is not a sickly green color (ala Troon CC). One great thing at Quintero is the extra tee boxes- each time you play they seem to have a slightly different feel to each tee shot.
The conditions here are among the best in the valley, at least in summer- the greens are very smooth and easy to putt, and the fairways and tee boxes are usually very good. The bunker sand is a bit rocky but not horrible.
For course conditions and quality, I would definitely place this course in the top 5 in the Phoenix valley, perhaps even second. It is killer and a must play, especially since they have a tee time or two available on EZLinks these days.
The two other reviewers gave 4 stars for amenities- not sure I understand that given there are essentially no amenities- just a temporary pro shop and small restaurant at the entrance to the club. They do have a very good driving range and chipping area... the putting practice green is substandard.
The very small staff here is extremely friendly and helpful.
Quintero is WAY off the beaten track, about 5 miles west of Lake Pleasant. I do not think there is another house within 5 miles of the community. This is a great thing for golfers who want to enjoy the beauty of the desert, but it does not make the community as desirable for potential home buyers...
I believe they are offering some very affordable options for membership. This would be a great place for a "cart golfer" to join, not for a "walker" given the massive elevation changes on the course.
