Beautiful clubhouse and super friendly staff make this course a must play. The course offers a good variety of holes and some elevation changes that are rare along the Gulf Coast. It is much more playable then some courses of its caliber. The maintenance is always flawless. The dining room has been hit or miss in the past but they have a great new chef now and hopefully have worked that out.
My regular group and I play here a lot. It's challenging, especially from the back tees. Water is in play on several holes, as are big elevation changes. Factor in some doglegs, plenty of traps and blind shots and you'll find yourself well-tested. They do a great job with maintaining it from tees to greens and have super friendly staff. Practice facilities are very good. Clubhouse food is great. It's a great course, in spite of the houses lining every fairway.
Played this course on 4/15/2010 after playing the three other Honours golf courses earlier in the week. There was a lot less water on Rock Creek but it still proved challenging. Unfortunately they arriated the greens that morning but the greens were still in very good shape. The scenery was very nice as there were some beautiful homes. At the same time view from the tees were very nice. The elevation changes were subtle enough that if you weren't paying attention it could hurt you on your yardage calculations. Fairways were in very good shape. Like the other Honours courses we played earlier you had to be accurate off the tee box. The penalty wasn't as bad in playing from where it rest but the 2nd or approach shot was affected. You had to be able to work the ball left to right or right to left to get the ball in a good position on the green. I would/will play this course again. It is the best course to play for the dollar but unlike the other Honours courses we had to pay for our range balls.
